She came to FF wanting to learn how best to manage her money and better prepare for her future.Įva is a widow with two adult children and works as a public elementary school teacher. Coming from a family with a history of longevity, she realized she needed to start thinking about the future. Maria retired twenty-eight years ago and has enjoyed a comfortable retirement. The topics include spending plans, managing debt, setting savings goals and preparing for the future. Although the three ladies are in different stages of life, the opportunity to learn together in the study appealed to them.įaith & Finances is a life skills training based on Biblical principles for money management. Her aunt, Maria Rosales, and daughter, Marriah Miranda, were also excited when she mentioned the class to them. The idea that the Bible had something to say about her finances intrigued her. Recently, Eva Rosales saw a flyer at her YMCA for a STCH Ministries Faith & Finances (FF) class. I will try to write more post as time permits.Family, education, community service and participation in their local church have helped guide the Rosales family of San Antonio through life. Last Thoughts to close out 2020Īgain I know 2020 was not easy for many and myself, but we must keep on going. The worst that can happen is that people will say no. Thoughts on finances for 2020ĭuring the past year, it’s been a struggle for many families since they could not work because of the restrictions. What I realized I missed the most during 2020 was simply getting a chance to really spend quality time with my Family and Friends. Remember to hug your Family and Friends Remember to hug your family and friends if even virtually. We have to remember our ancestor’s survival The Black Plague, Spanish Flu, and many other things throughout history. Faith that things will get better even though there is hurt, pain, and suffering from this pandemic. I wish I can say things will be ok, but I really don’t know and that’s where Faith comes in. It’s going to be hard for many people if they have lost a loved one, but I am sure their loved ones would want them to move forward. That’s why it’s important to keep your Fitness up (health) because if you get sick there might not be a full-proof way to treat you. We anticipate we will have vaccines for COVID-19 by December, but it won’t reach the population until the middle of 2021 at the earliest due to the requirements of the vaccine. That would be my best guess for normalcy because history tends to repeat itself. If you look back at the Spanish Flu 2, it took 2 years from 1918-1920. Of course, there is a lot of sadness that has occurred with the deaths of over 1 Million+ globally 1.Ī lot of people have tried to guess when we will get back to normal. We can see in the numbers that are being published that cases are climbing for the second wave at time of this blog post. At first, everyone was extremely scared, but over time society has developed pandemic fatigue. For me, it was the day after my birthday in March when the shutdown all began. I am sure everyone will remember where they were when the shutdown happened for their location. Anyways, I never imagine by 2020 there would a global pandemic. I do appreciate everyone that has come and visited the site. ![]() I will say I am surprised that people have still made comments since I launched the book 10 years ago and people have shared similar thoughts.
